Buildzone was contracted initially to carry out internal alterations and refurbishment of this care home whilst still fully operating.

This posed certain logistical difficulties and it was essential that the work was completed within very strict guidelines and protocols as it accommodated the elderly and also residents with dementia.

The work consisted predominantly of the conversion of 28 en-suites into wet rooms, conversion of a dining room to a bedroom, and a bedroom to a new lounge area. As part of this refurbishment replacements to flooring and lighting to corridors were carried out.

Buildzone was also tasked with a significant amount of external work which included replacement flood lighting and fencing, plus solving a problem with water damage to the corbel stones and gable ends of the building which consisted of extensive lead work.

There were also a number of variations agreed between ourselves and the client that were carried out within the contract period.
